The Nevada Mental Health Counselors Association is a professional organization dedicated to supporting, connecting, and advocating for mental health counselors across Nevada.

Our work is grounded in a simple belief: Nevada communities are stronger when mental health professionals are supported, informed, and empowered to provide ethical, accessible, and high-quality care.

Who We Are

NVMHCA represents mental health counselors, clinical professional counselors, counselor educators, supervisors, students, associates, and allied professionals who are committed to strengthening the counseling profession in Nevada.

We serve as a professional home for counselors who want to stay connected to the field, engage in advocacy, access continuing education, and contribute to the future of mental health care in our state.

What We Do

NVMHCA works to advance the mental health counseling profession through advocacy, education, professional development, and community connection.

Our priorities include:

• Supporting the professional identity and visibility of mental health counselors in Nevada

• Advocating for policies that strengthen access to mental health care

• Providing opportunities for continuing education and professional growth

• Creating space for counselors to connect, collaborate, and share resources

• Supporting students, interns, associates, supervisors, and independently licensed clinicians

• Promoting ethical, culturally responsive, and clinically sound counseling practice

Our Goals

NVMHCA is committed to building a stronger, more connected counseling community. Our goals include expanding membership, increasing professional development opportunities, strengthening advocacy efforts, supporting emerging professionals, and improving communication between counselors, agencies, policymakers, and the broader community.

We are especially focused on helping Nevada counselors stay informed, involved, and prepared to respond to changes affecting clinical practice, licensure, reimbursement, workforce development, and access to care.
